SYNOPSIS: Combining the chivalric pageantry of Queen Elizabeth’s Accession Day Tilts with the vice comedy of the Tudor interlude, Three Lords and Three Ladies of London channels the triumphant spirit of England’s metropolis in the immediate wake of the failed Spanish Armada of 1588. Robert Wilson’s play features courtly romance, ritualized combat, financial trickery, a singing contest, and scenes and music commemorating Elizabeth’s favorite jester Richard Tarlton.
COMPANY BIOGRAPHY: Students in English and Theatre at Purdue University, the Purdue Players previously staged Adam and Eve for Chester 2010 at Toronto and The Birth of Merlin performed at the International Medieval Congress in 2013.

Associate Professor Richard Sullivan Lee specializes in Shakespeare, vocal production and versification of the classical text at Purdue. Dr.
Anne Fliotsos, Purdue professor of Theatre, has recently published Script Interpretation and written widely in theatre history. English
Professor Paul Whitfield White has published extensively in early modern drama and is currently editing with Bryan Nakawaki Three Lords and Three Ladies for QME.
